These clear silicone rubber gaskets (set of 2) are factory-installed on the underside of the mounting bases. These provide a slip-resistant seal between the mounting bases and toilet bowl to keep the toilet seat securely in place.
IMPORTANT: Before installation, be sure the gaskets are clean and dry. We recommend using a little Windex or any glass cleaner on the toilet bowl (around the mounting holes) to remove any cleaning chemical residue and prep the area for seat mounting. If both surfaces are clean and dry, the rubber gasket and ceramic surface are tacky (almost stick together). Be sure to tighten mounting screws very firmly.
